**Summary**

Under direction of supervision, performs review of proposed encroachments and resolution of existing encroachments in SRP Right-of-Way (R.O.W.). Generates various reports and documentation for management using computerized information systems. Resolves existing encroachments and unauthorized use of SRP property based upon transmission line asset management processes, procedures, guidelines and transmission line maintenance practices. Performs evaluations of field conditions for SRP maintenance equipment access and set up within SRP R.O.W. Evaluates proposed and/or existing improvements from civil engineering, architectural and landscape plans and provides written review comments based upon SRP transmission line maintenance practices and guidelines. Prepares documentation and reports status of plan reviews, meetings and other correspondence related to proposed improvement projects and existing encroachments in SRP R.O.W. Generates various reports using data from Smallworld, MapsOnline, OpenText, ECM and various MicroSoft products for use by management.

+ Provides technical assistance on special projects as required by supervision

+ Provides engineering support and technical expertise to other departments

+ Supports the engineering staff in development of new computer programs and modification of existing programs

+ Assists engineers and analysts in the preparation and analysis of system planning studies, reports and presentations

**What It Takes To Succeed**

+ Knowledge of MicroSoft office suite, Smallworld, MapsOnline, ECM, LRIMS, SharePoint, OpenText and Cimage applications

+ Knowledge of line construction and maintenance practices.

+ Knowledge of land rights, survey and overhead/underground line construction and maintenance

+ Ability to work with SRP R.O.W. contractor or customer service personnel in answering questions from property owners, municipalities and governmental agencies

+ Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and ability to provide or obtain information to/from other departments affected by the transmission line asset management process

+ Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple assignments with concurrent schedules and plan own workload

**Experience**

Minimum 6 years of related experience required. Promotions are determined by demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by management.

**Education**

College level coursework (100+) related to the position from an accredited institution is preferred.

**Hybrid Workplace**

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.

**Position Overview**

**_Power your Future as a SCADA Engineering Technician with QUALUS!_** We are seeking a mid-level SCADA Engineering Technician to support commissioning, testing, and implementation of SCADA systems in the field. This hands-on role focuses on RTU integration, PLC configuration, and diagnostics across utility, hydro, and power environments. Technicians will be embedded at client sites to support field operations and ensure reliable performance of critical infrastructure systems. This is an On-Call (OC), field-based role servicing the Northeast client territory. 50-90% travel required.

**Responsibilities**

+ Commission and test SCADA RTU systems for replacement, improvement, and separation projects.

+ Create and modify PLC programs using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Fucntional Block Diagrams.

+ Configure and troubleshoot communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA).

+ Support integration of SCADA systems with platforms such as OSI PI and AVEVA.

+ Conduct system diagnostics and collaborate with field teams, clients, and vendors to resolve issues.

+ Assist with the development of test procedures, field documentation, and technical reporting.

+ Apply a working knowledge of SCADA architecture within utility and power environments.

+ Ensure NERC CIP-004 compliance, including background check requirements.

+ Travel extensively to client sites (50-90%) as project schedules require.

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or 6-8 years of equivalent utility industry experience).

+ Minimum 3 years of field experience commissioning and testing SCADA RTU systems.

+ Familiarity with PLC platforms such as Allen Bradley and Modicon.

+ Strong understanding of SCADA architecture and automation protocols.

+ Experience with AVEVA/Wonderware, OSI PI, or similar SCADA platforms is a plus.

+ Skilled in Microsoft Office and basic scripting (Python, JavaScript, VBScript) is a plus.

+ Strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentations skills.

+ Must pass a NERC-level background check.

+ Must be available for extended on-site work M-F as needed.

**Purpose**

Leads Water/Wastewater Operations team in the prirotization and performance of routine and emergency functions associated with the daily operations of water and/or wastewater systems. **Accountabilities**

+ Responsible for making thorough analysis and decisions of job details and emergencies.

+ Organize, lead, and direct Liberty staff, contractors and request bids from contractors as required.

+ Coordinates with city inspectors and public works departments to obtain any required permits and inspections.

+ Collaborate with supervisor in working closely with Engineering to complete capital jobs and achieve capital budget.

+ Respond to difficult customer inquiries.

+ Fills in as stand-by distribution supervisor as needed.

+ Maintains and accounts for all tools and equipment and assigned vehicles.

+ Provide monthly audits/inspection on vehicles and large equipment.

+ Fills out all paperwork on daily job safety inspection sheets.

**Education and Experience**

+ Seven+ years’ in operations, distribution, collection (water and/or wastewater treatment)

+ Work requires specialized knowledge of wells, pumps, motors, and chlorinators. Including plumbing principles and ability to complete repairs to system or make decisions regarding their repairs which requires a high degree of knowledge of plumbing materials and methods as related to utility improvements.

+ Arizona locations require a ADEQ Grade 4 Operator License in specific area of concentration; i.e, Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, Collections, or Water Treatment. Locations that operate water and wastewater require a second certification, minimum of a Grade 3, in another specific area of concentration; or the ability to obtain the second certification within 6 months with express written approval from Director, Operations; i.e., Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, Collections or Water Treatment.

+ Maintain a valid state driver’s license

+ Work requires the ability to read maps, manuals, work orders, and blueprints.

+ Work requires the ability to perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, as well as knowledge of common water calculations and their applications.

+ Work requires the ability to write work orders, memos, letters, reports and keep accurate daily records at well sites, lift stations and treatment facilities.

+ Broad Application - Work requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities.

The selected candidate will work as a Engineering Technician on the Integration & Test (I&T) of Northrop Grumman Spacecraft.
