Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Division in Gilbert, AZ specializes in the Integration, Test, and Launch of the Space Systems for Commercial, DOD and NASA customers. We are seeking a Level 2 Electronic Technician in support of a large manufacturing facility in the Space Industry.
**PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Under close supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment.
+ Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Guidance is readily available from superiors. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks.
+ Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications.
+ Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to component level.
+ Conducts defined engineering tests and collects data as assigned.
+ Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus.

**Typical Tasks and Duties** - Duties & tasks are varied but standardized. Performs some more advanced functions. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex questions to higher levels.
+ Complex cable harness manipulation techniques and test configuration. EGSE rack usage and basic troubleshooting.
+ Certification of test equipment both utilizing automated equipment and manual certification.
+ Basic troubleshooting skills, including basic circuits, test setup, vehicle configuration and electronic modules.
+ Intermediate understanding of Test Operator responsibilities and ability to execute all scripts during test events.
**Shift Work** - This position requires the flexibility to work alternate shifts (2nd shift and 3rd shift) and potentially weekend shifts depending on test event schedules. Advanced notice of shift change will be provided when the needs arise. Shift differential pay and overtime is available in these situations.
**Travel** - This position could require up to 25% travel domestically.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Minimum of a High School Diploma with 2 years electronic or related experience Highschool Diploma with Electronics training equivalent to 2 years technical trade school or military technical school
+ Electronic skills (AC/DC/resistance measurements)

**Salary Range:** $28 - $33

What You Will Do

**Key responsibilities for this role include:**
+ Obtain forklift certification and perform material handling operations as assigned.
+ Perform compounding and sampling in support of blending operations.

Now Hiring for a Field Service Technician II who will be based out of Boston, Massachusetts or Phoenix Arizona to support our installation, maintenance and commissioning for gas detection equipment. In this role you will perform the following tasks:
* On-site Technical Services, covering equipment installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and commissioning.
* Provide support in training third party users, customers, and associate employees in the installation, use and maintenance of equipment and associated software.
* Review construction blueprints and work with Customers, Architects, and Installers to ensure MSA systems are installed properly.
* Professionally communicate project and service work status with Customer’s Project Managers, Port Engineers, Contractors, and Consultants as directed, ensure visibility and benefits of MSA technical support.
* Provide support and assistance with technical or sales related projects, customer inquiries and general project management.
* Complete and submit accurate job specific project administrative information in a timely fashion, including support of field service records, associated corporate documents, mileage, expenses and hourly work records for billing and invoice purposes.
* Maintain service spares inventory and properly document usage.
Qualifications
* Position requires, concentration, accuracy, and focused mental effort, with the ability to present a calm and professional demeanor.
* Occasional exposure to; heat/cold, noise, dust, dirt, and fumes
* Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
* The ability to work at heights on ladders, scissor lifts or roof tops.
* Regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, hear, and see, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, climb stairs and ladders.
* Technical aptitude, electronics troubleshooting ability.
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
* Familiar with FTP, IP protocols, serial communications, and microcontrollers
* Effective communications skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work independently to diagnose and solve problems.
* Other duties as assigned.
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
* Technical aptitude, electronics troubleshooting ability.
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Familiar with FTP, IP protocols, serial communications, and microcontrollers.
* Effective communications skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently to diagnose and solve problems.
Education and experience required:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of 3 years mechanical, electrical or electronic experience.
* Minimum 1 year field experience as a service technician.
Preferred:
* Associate degree in electronics or a related technical field OR equivalent military training.
* HVAC/R experience.
* Experience with Military Service.
* Electronic Technician, Electrician diploma/certification or Refrigeration Experience
