    The Barrow Neuro Analytics Center (BNAC) is a data science-focused research facility led by Dr. Brad Racette and co-directed by Dr. Chia-Ling Phuah, that aims to harness the power of big data to advance understanding of neurological diseases and develop new treatments. This 11,000 square foot state-of-the-art dry laboratory space is located in the Park Central Bioscience Hub adjacent to both Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) and Creighton University School of Medicine Phoenix Health Sciences campus. Housed in BNAC are the Racette Laboratory and Criswell Laboratory, which together make up the Neuroepidemiology Research Program. The Neuroepidemiology Research Program focuses on 1) epidemiologic studies, that elucidate risk factors for neurodegenerative disease, with an emphasis on the environment and neurodegenerative disease; and 2) environmental and occupational risk factors in neurodegeneration, specifically neurotoxicants related to parkinsonism and cognitive impairment. We employ a variety of methods in our research, including field-based epidemiology, advanced neuroimaging, and administrative data studies across three continents.

    The Manfredsson laboratory at Barrow Neurological Institute is currently hiring several highly motivated Research Faculty within the areas of gene therapy neurodegeneration and electrophysiology. The group is focused on developing novel gene therapy modalities to study and treat neurodegeneration and associated symptomology with a primary focus on Parkinson’s disease. A second priority is experience with DNA/RNA and molecular biology advanced viral vector engineering and in vivo assessment processing of human post-mortem brain specimens and next-gen sequencing and analysis. Experience with computer programming will be considered a plus. Research Faculty in the laboratory are expected to take the lead on a multitude of projects contribute to grant writing and supervise junior trainees. Required: PhD MD or equivalent.     We are seeking faculty with expertise across all areas of speech, language, and swallowing disorders and across the lifespan with an emphasis on school-based, autism, fluency, and AAC experience.     The major responsibility of this position includes serving as a faculty advisor in the academic and clinical areas. The program does not have an on-campus clinic, but some supervision may be required (examples include: activities in the classroom, simulations, community screenings, or health fairs). Graduate teaching responsibilities include teaching several courses in different areas of the Speech-Language Pathology graduate program curriculum.
