Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. OR BA/BS Degree in Archives, Library or Information Science with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in library, archives, or federal records managementAbility to work as part of a team in completing assignments both at WACC as well as at selected NPS units. Experience with properly identifying and completing necessary storage upgrade requirements for archival preservation of all material types (photographs, maps/drawings, textual records). Familiarity with descriptive metadata.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS ExcelDuties:The enrollee will support the Western Archaeological and Conservation Center in improving accountability and discoverability of library collections by appraising incoming collections, cataloging to describe their content, and creating tools that facilitate public access.Remove up to 1,800 references from the NPS library system, On-Line Patron Access (OPAC) that are duplicates or outside the Scope of Collection30%Appraise up to 1,500 volumes to determine if they fit the Scope of Collections.30%Complete copy cataloging for up to 120 volumes for WACC and original cataloging for up to 100 volumes from Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument.20%Complete cataloging and print labels for an estimated 1,000 volumes for Chamizal National Memorial on-site in El Paso, Texas.20%Other:Overnight travel: 1 trip to CHAMPhysical requirements: Enrollee must be able to maneuver boxes weighing up to 25 lbs Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.NEW Solutions is committed to promoting equal opportunity and to an environment free from discrimination and harassment in any form administering Experienced Worker Programs under cooperative agreements with federal agencies.
