    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    UCT is looking for a talented Technician IV to join us in Chandler, AZ! Chemical Film Technician is responsible for chemical conversion coating that applies chromates to or aluminum parts and frames. Chemical Film Technician IV will play a vital role in the production process by finishing metal components to meet quality standards and specifications. They are responsible for executing plating processes to enhance the surface quality, appearance, and corrosion resistance of metal components and ensuring the production of high-quality finished products that meet customer specifications and industry standards.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    In addition to the general duties of a Chemical Film Technician IV, this position performs preparation, pre-cleaning, and processing of parts per work orders or instructions on the Chem-film (chromate) production line.
    Apply plating solutions and chemicals to specifications to achieve the desired plating thickness, coverage, and finish.
    Identify and address any non-conformities or quality issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    Maintain plating equipment and tanks in good working condition by performing cleaning, and calibration activities.
    Handle plating chemicals, solutions, and waste materials in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
    Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper safety precautions when working with hazardous materials and equipment.
    Complete production logs, batch records, and inspection reports to track process performance and product traceability. After documenting, route parts to the next department.
    Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and other operational issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
    Specialized duties may include all Chemical Film Technician IV specialized duties, plus may act as a “Lead” technician for the assigned cleaning line(s), aid the R&D group for specialized cleaning activities, and assignment to the cleaning of 1st Article products.
    May aid in process improvement activities.
    Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
