    The Manfredsson laboratory at Barrow Neurological Institute is currently hiring several highly motivated Research Faculty within the areas of gene therapy neurodegeneration and electrophysiology.

    The group is focused on developing novel gene therapy modalities to study and treat neurodegeneration and associated symptomology with a primary focus on Parkinson’s disease.

    The position is catered to all levels however Junior/Research Faculty with a NIH ESI status will be given special consideration.

    Our group practices team science utilizing a multitude of interdisciplinary approaches in our research ranging from electrophysiology to viral vector design and production.

    Our research outcomes range from molecular biology omics and histology.

    Although we are interested in all research backgrounds priority will be given to fellows with experience in either in vivo fiber photometry ex vivo electrophysiology and calcium imaging.

    A second priority is experience with DNA/RNA and molecular biology advanced viral vector engineering and in vivo assessment processing of human post-mortem brain specimens and next-gen sequencing and analysis.

    Experience with computer programming will be considered a plus.

    Research Faculty in the laboratory are expected to take the lead on a multitude of projects contribute to grant writing and supervise junior trainees.
