This Opportunity
Provides subject matter technical support and leadership for multi-site/phase water resources engineering work processes, due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, and environmental permitting projects. Ensures project elements and processes relating to water supply, stormwater facilities, irrigation facilities, culverts, hydrology, open channel hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, floodplain modeling/mapping, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, river/stream/habitat restoration and fish passage, pollution control and treatment, and preserving the environment are conveyed and acted upon with a high level of quality and compliance. Responsible for providing situational guidance to PMs and managers that address current and future environmental challenges, and that documentation and recommendations accurately account for and address long-term risks to ecological and human health. Leads environmental site assessments, corrective strategies, classification of contaminated materials, and treatment, disposal, and/or onsite remediation activities to avert degradation of water resources. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.

+ Ensure and validate that the planning and management of available water supply is adequately leveraged, treated, improved upon and remains safe for various end uses – recreationally, commercially, and/or industrially.
+ Develop advanced technologies, monitoring devices, modeling techniques, design requirements, and operating strategies to reduce the volume and toxicity of pollutants, account for the negative environmental impact of industrial facilities, power plants, and transportation vehicles/systems, and allow for greater use of water resources.
+ Lead larger-scale engineering projects ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, monitoring external events, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring satisfactory performance, and supervising subcontractors, contract work, and employees.
+ Lead environmental site assessments (Phase I and II).
+ Assist with engineering review of permit applications, engineering design plans and specifications, standby plans and engineering contracts, integrated waste management plans, and periodic construction inspections, to ensure that they comply with applicable state and/or federal regulations and sound engineering practice and standards.
+ Perform concept level design of treatment works and analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models and computations for storm water and watershed master planning, stream restoration, and water quality studies.
+ Design water purification methods through desalination or creating new equipment for contaminant transport when water is used for irrigation purposes.
+ Design a variety of facilities, such as bioretentions, green roofs, permeable pavements, stormwater ponds, manufactured treatment devices, and underground detention facilities.
+ Prepare watershed studies, floodplain studies, and evaluate regulated impoundment structures for compliance with regulations.
+ Meet with various public or private entities or individuals to discuss issues relating to a variety of environmental problems and programs.
+ Ensure technical reports and presentations explain research, findings, and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, clean-up, or address environmental issues or problems.
+ Develop action plans for larger-scale pollution, corrosion, hazardous waste, and environmental control programs.
+ Develop a client base for providing high level water resources engineering services including identifying additional business development opportunities.
+ Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.
+ Remain current in latest water resources engineering techniques.

Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus in Water Resources or closely related discipline.
+ 10+ years of relevant post education experience in water resources engineering.
+ Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
+ Highly proficient with water resources engineering principles, practices, and methods and their application to environmental and project work-related issues.
+ Highly proficient with the concepts of reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or products., and mitigation programs.
+ Strong knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
+ Highly proficient with making technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
+ Well-defined experience in conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM guidelines and industry standards.

Position Description
The Water Manager oversees the operations of the Water Division, including supervising staff, managing daily functions, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include planning and executing programs, managing budgets, reviewing reports, and representing the division in meetings and public forums. Qualifications

Michael Baker is currently seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer in Phoenix, AZ. As part of our Surface Water Design and Analysis Team, you will primarily provide planning, design, and modeling support for a variety of projects related to surface water projects including flood control facilities, floodplain mapping, master planning for both private developers and public sector clients, local street and highway drainage design, and sediment yield analysis. You will provide input to the preparation of drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and large technical studies. You will build and maintain important relationships with internal and external clients and vendors. In addition, our Phoenix office is seeking to expand our core of young future project managers in the Surface Water group, if desired, you will be a key part of that growth by assisting in developing project proposal scopes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Leading and/or contributing to the design or analysis effort on one or more projects
•Assist and/or help in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for various analysis efforts on one or more projects
•Prepare complex studies, design documents, drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

COMPENSATION

**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Drainage Lead to join our team in Phoenix, Murray and Denver, United States. In this critical role, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of drainage systems for various transportation infrastructure projects.
This role will directly support an exciting Progressive Design Build project involving the I84 & US 89 interchange. This is a complex and cutting edge conversion of an existing interchange to an AECOM led flagship project. + Oversee the design and analysis of drainage systems for highways, roads, and other transportation infrastructure projects
+ Lead a team of engineers and technicians in developing innovative and cost-effective drainage solutions
+ Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses using advanced modeling software
+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to stormwater management and flood control
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental specialists and geotechnical engineers
+ Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and construction documents
+ Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables
+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff
+ Represent the organization in client meetings and public presentations
+ Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in transportation drainage
**Qualifications**

+ BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
