    The Role

    The Plate Grinder is responsible for the operation of the TimeSaver plate refinishing machine to prepare plates with a level of surface quality required for the press cycle. Additionally, this position is responsible for operating and maintaining the exhaust unit connected to the plate refinisher.

    Top Responsibilities

    Performs set up and operation of refinishing machine and dust collector, including start up and shutdown, belt change and gauge adjustment (based on plate thickness) as necessary.
    Retrieves stainless steel plates that require refinishing from the automated plate farm.
    Identify reject plates which do not meet Isola's quality standards and determine the course of action for refinishing based on the incoming quality of the plate.
    Using a micrometer, measures the thickness of the plate and adjusts the gap setting on the refinishing machine to accommodate the thickness of the stainless steel plate.
    Cleans the refinishing machine as required.
    Take direction from engineering on plate refinishing schedule.

    Qualifications

    A minimum of 6 months of previous experience in manufacturing preferred.
    Forklift Experience preferred
    Ability to pass physical capabilities assessment
    This is a safety-sensitive role. Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

    SUMMARY

    Equipment operators are responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment vehicles.
