This role is responsible for general maintenance assignments and performing day-to-day equipment and facility repairs. This position may also support projects such as rebuilding pumps, motors, and other shop repairs as needed. At times, duties may also include handling hazardous materials, waste, water treatment and performing inspections.

Follow specified safety protocol when performing all routine and non-routine maintenance procedures.
Establish preventative, corrective and routine maintenance on facilities equipment to ensure proper functionality, and ensure necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
Lead troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment failures, identifying appropriate solutions, and in charge of repairing equipment as needed.
Reference equipment blueprints, diagrams, or other resource materials to ensure proper inspection, repair, and use of equipment.
Oversee accurate records of work in progress and completed tasks.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.  May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of education
4+ years’ maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Experience with quality management systems

What You Will Do

Test the functionality of components, parts, assemblies, and systems to support production quality, product development, engineering, failure analysis and warranty returns.
Perform visual inspections of intricate parts and assemblies under microscope and other equipment.
Work closely with engineers to ensure testing procedures are accurately performed.
Configure testing equipment hardware and initiate automated test scripts using a computer interface.
Analyze test results, create test reports, and archive the test record on computer.
Interpret the unit test results, disposition unit quality (pass/fail), prepare information needed to perform repairs, and route parts to next process step.
Enter transactional job information into a computerized job scheduling/tracking system (MRP).
Perform equipment calibrations, test standards, and archive results to monitor tester health.
Rotate to different test stations based on daily assignments.

Summary The Nursing Specialty Service line located at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), is currently recruiting for a Medical Instrument Technician (MIT) Cardiac Sonographer (Echocardiographer). MIT's perform procedures and examinations on patients as a clinical or research service to physicians. The service relates to the treatment of particular patients, or it involves providing the physician with technical information used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in patients. Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: Identifies and record anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant condition from ultrasound imaging and simultaneous recordings of the Doppler. Changes and develop sounding techniques to accommodate such variables as limited patient mobility, variation in physical condition or dimension of the patient. Interacts with patients explaining procedures and positioning and prepping the patient for procedure. Produces diagnostic quality images and Doppler frequency recordings using M-mode, two-dimensional, and Doppler ultrasound. Administers contrast when required for image quality per protocol. Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding patient monitoring equipment, patient positioning and comfort, peripheral venous access, and proper handling of lab specimens. Ensures proper performance of equipment, set up equipment, and reprocess reusable medical equipment (RME). Identifies and record anomalies indicative of disease, injury or other medically significant condition from ultrasound imaging and simultaneous recordings of Doppler imaging. Incorporates causes and results of a variety of symptoms and conditions into a plan of ultrasonic diagnostic examination. With supervision, the Fleet Technician I is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers, ground level offices, office trailers, and/or modular buildings.
