**Job Summary:**
Machinist with micro-machining experience primarily with aluminum. Manual operations using Bridgeport knee mill. Machining operation requires the use of magnification visor/ eye loop / low power microscope to validate drawing compliance. Responsibilities also include fabrication of prototype tooling and product modifications, repairs and rework. Work environment requires standing for extended periods of time, and the ability reach and lift 50lbs. overhead on occasions.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and veneer calipers
+ Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders
+ Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers
+ Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations
+ Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials into machines
+ Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
+ Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances
+ Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
+ Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts
+ Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs
+ Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Experience: Minimum of 4 years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers.
+ Knowledge: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
+ Skills/Abilities: Ability to control operation of equipment or systems; Strong analytical skills, possesses the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong; Strong oral and written communication skills; The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
+ Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent required.
+ **Eligibility Requirement:** This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. + Loads, Unloads, Starts, and Stops Machines.
+ Sets the feeds and speeds of machines during the machining process.

+ Plan and review machine job by reviewing job packets, engineering drawing, dimensional specification and tolerance, machining operating parameters and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
+ Step- up machines, operate machines using established protocols, perform dimensional measurements to fill production orders
+ Perform daily inspection of machines to ensure operating at optimal condition and help operates and shift supervisor troubleshoot machine issues
+ Support or lead root causes analysis and implement assigned corrective actions
+ Perform assigned operational machine preventative machines
+ Complete batch documentation (operation reports, quality logs and SAP entry)
+ Optimize machine operation to reduce cycle time and reduce defects
+ Perform task assigned by operations manager
+ Help create training program for machinist
+ Review and update procedures, work instruction and operational reports
+ Perform and document machine operators and machinist on the job training and machine operator and machinist qualification
+ Work with machine vendor for technical support, troubleshooting machine issues and keep current knowledge of equipment and technology
+ Support CNC programmer with troubleshooting and programming CNC and complex machines
+ Backup CNC programmer
+ Support operation and of Gage Pack
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
+ A dvanced training, either on-the-job or through a training source, on the requirements for machining complex metal, alloy, or ceramic parts
+ A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Must be proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications
+ Must be proficient in utilizing computer software, SAP, ETQ
+ Proficient in the use of other computers and software packages needed to function as a productive Machinist in a challenging environment
+ Willingness and ability to work safely and follow all Company safety policies or procedures
+ Safety conscious, conscientious, detail oriented, a team player, a self-starter capable of responding to work requirements with a sense of urgency, and able to work with minimal supervision
