**Required Skills:**

Production Network Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that Facebook's network and its related services are reliable, robust, and can scale to meet the challenges that serving over a billion users presents.

2. Develop and deploy network designs, automation systems, and network performance improvements into our production networks.

3. Build, manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol data center, backbone, and edge networks.

4. Develop optimized network monitoring systems.

5. Design and deploy new network architectures and related tooling.

6. Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events.

7. Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network issues.

8. Develop and maintain consistency within the network infrastructure.

9. Telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. permitted (remote work benefit).

**Minimum Qualifications:**

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field and 24 months of work experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Experience must include 6 months of experience in each of the following:

11. Coding in Python, C++, or Go

12. Routing and switching

13. Knowledge of forwarding and data planes

14. Protocol knowledge in one or more of BGP, MPLS, ISIS or similar routing protocols

15. Knowledge in typical configurations and performance tuning

16. Developing and understanding network device configuration for at least one vendor: Juniper, Cisco, Arista, or Brocade

17. Network hardware and topology failures

18. Linux or Unix and

19. Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol
