Responsibilities Job Summary The COORDINATOR-PRE HOSPITAL assists with the coordination and overall management of all activities and program requirements in relation to base hospital agreements. Position serves as a liaison by maintaining effective lines of communication with base hospital personnel, public safety agencies including EMS/Fire and law enforcement, state regulatory agencies, and other healthcare facilities. Collaborates with EMS agencies as well as hospital-based clinical educators and continuously assesses education needs to help develop and institute prehospital care education programs for EMCTs, nurses, and medical staff in collaboration with the base hospital EMS medical director. Collaborates with organization and community partners on key program initiatives to ensure strategic outcomes regarding EMS programs are achieved. Participates in prehospital quality management efforts related to prehospital personnel and functions. Serves as professional resource to staff to maximize patient care, encourage cooperation and facilitate interdisciplinary problem resolution Participates in planning and relationship development with EMS agencies and community partners. Participates in planning of nursing base station orientation, training, and competency validation. Assists in the maintenance of contracts and ongoing communications with EMS agencies. Maintains current policies and procedures specific to assigned medical center(s) including those required to meet DHS base station standards. Maintains and coordinates requirements to base station re-certification. Acts as a liaison between nursing, physicians, hospital network executives, and EMS to ensure effective coordination of care delivery. Serves as the patient advocate by investigating, managing, and resolving concerns reported by patients, families, EMS, ED Staff, and/or physicians. Facilitates resolution in a respectful and effective manner. Collaborates with Emergency Management and prehospital agencies appropriately during emergency (high stress) situations, while maintaining composure and utilizing sound critical thinking skills throughout the situation. Coordinates inventory and exchange systems with prehospital personnel in collaboration with EMS agencies and Director of Pharmacy. Qualifications Education Associate's Degree in Nursing or a licensed EMT-Paramedic from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution or licensed EMT-P training course approved under Arizona 9 A.A.C. 25, Articles 2, 4, and 5 Required Experience 2 years Emergency Department or prehospital or related experience Required Licenses and Certifications Nursing\RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/or Compact State Licensure or Licensed EMT-P Upon Hire Required Clinical Other\ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS Certification Upon Hire Required Related Certification Upon Hire Required
