**Where You Will Work **

In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation’s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.

**Description**

Under minimal supervision, provides technical knowledge and guidance for designated interface groups. Provides installation, diagnostics, repair and reliability of industrial control systems and equipment.

+ Interface between staff engineers, external technical representatives, operations, and maintenance personnel. Experience with control system maintenance and associated project development/implementation.

+ Provides installation, diagnostics, repair and reliability of industrial control equipment (i.e. instrumentation, industrial communications, process control systems, and third party equipment).

+ Actively participates in safety and environmental programs and other programs determined by management.

+ Perform other duties as requested

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ Completion of an approved electrical/instrumentation certification program and one (1) year of experience in process automation repair and maintenance in an industrial setting **OR**

+ Five (5) years combination electrical/instrumentation or process automation repair and maintenance in an industrial setting with minimum (1) year of experience in process automation repair and maintenance in an industrial setting

+ Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge, as well as safety.

+ Ability to pass 75% of the Process Automation assessment

+ Experience in SCADA, HMI/PLC or DCS based control systems

+ Strong technical knowledge in communication, interfaces and protocols

+ Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair

+ Valid State Driver’s License

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company

+ Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime as business needs dictate

+ Able to perform the essential functions of the job at the time of the job offer with or without reasonable accommodations

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Associates of Applied Science Degree in a technical field

+ HMI/PLC and/or DCS programming and troubleshooting experience

+ Understanding of networking fundamentals

+ Understanding of historical data collection systems

**Criteria/Conditions:**

+ Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.

+ Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.

+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

**What We Offer You**

The estimated pay range for this role is currently **$35.00-$47.00/hour** . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
