Learn more at HonorHealth.com. Responsibilities Job Summary Supervises, coordinates, trains and evaluates Security Officers assigned to his or her shift. Ensures the safety and security of staff, patients, and visitors, and the protection of company property. Some activities can involve elements of danger or risk of injury. Receives direction and implements Security programs under the guidance of the leadership. Initiates recommendations for changes in classifications, salary actions, promotion, demotion, transfer and termination. May settle employee problems and administer appropriate disciplinary action. Collaborates with community partners and hospital leaders. Supervises security personnel with primary responsibility to officers assigned to his or her shift. Plans, establishes, and revises work assignments and work schedules. Involved in interviews and recommends hiring of personnel. Initiates recommendations for changes in classification, salary action, promotion, and disciplinary actions to include demotion, transfer and/or termination in conjunction with the leadership in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures. Plans, administers and documents training programs for current and new hires on topics including, but not limited to, proper patrol techniques, access control, inspections, report writing, crowd control, proper use of equipment, maintain appropriate certifications and licensing requirements. Mediates and resolves conflicts among staff members. Mentors and coaches officers by developing, presenting and/or supporting training on techniques to better communicate, collaborate and organize workload activities, and instills cooperation among team members. Responsible for daily security operations related to the assigned shift. Oversight of vehicle parking programs and traffic control for special events. Assists in overseeing and maintaining procedures for lost and found items and patient valuables. Manages request for access control and ensure proper documentation for access is completed. Develops and maintains a liaison role with local law enforcement and emergency responders. Assists leadership with the preparation of operational and capital budget requests for the security department. Monitors monthly budget and reports any variances. Prepares and maintains well-written, complete and comprehensive reports and logs relating to his or her accountabilities Supervises the investigation of security incidents and related comprehensive investigative reports. Follows notification procedures when incident requires further action. Monitors incident reports to establish possible trends or problem areas and establishes related plans of improvement dependent upon the situation. Conducts security and safety inspections in compliance with state and federal regulations. Documents and recommends corrective action and/or preventative measures when problems are identified. Supports security management in achieving accreditation standards. Represents HonorHealth as a brand ambassador for the company. Greets patients/visitors/vendors/staff with a smile. Assists any persons on campus grounds who need directions or campus information. Assists other departments with helping guests while they are otherwise detained.
