The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Aide – Birthday Parties – Tumbleweed Recreation Center (part-time, temporary, non-benefited).This position serves at the discretion of the department director. The position may be scheduled to work both Saturdays and Sundays.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with great organizational skills along with great time management; a creative and adaptable individual with the ability to work without direct supervision; a confident people-person who enjoys working with children and is able to communicate with all ages.

Typical duties will include preparing supplies and activities, setting up and cleaning the party room, engaging with both parents and children, and leading entertainment activities such as crafts, science experiments, sports/games, and party games. This may also involve setting up and taking down bounce houses, enforcing policies, taking inventory of supplies, requesting reorders, providing customer service, and performing administrative tasks, among other responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
• Some High School; no experience required; and
• A First Aid/CPR Certification, depending on assignment; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.

These policies have not been altered by the passage of Proposition 207. The use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the city’s Drug Free Workplace Policy. Certain positions within the city are required to submit to a pre-employment drug test. A positive result for drugs tested under the policy, including recreational marijuana, may be grounds for withdrawal of an offer of employment or volunteer opportunity. The examination process may vary if determined necessary.
