Responsibilities Job Summary The Hyperbaric Technologist assumes responsibility and accountability for patients within a designated time frame within the Hyperbaric Medicine/Wound Management Clinic. Provides comprehensive care to patients utilizing the patient care process of the department and patient care philosophy of HonorHealth care and functions within the scope of practice of a Hyperbaric Technologist. The Hyperbaric Technologist works in a team model to improve the patient's experience, create better communication and access to care, and support processes that will improve patient satisfaction. Implements the treatment plan of care by providing therapeutic Hyperbaric Oxygen to assigned patients through the operation of all hyperbaric medicine equipment according to department policies and procedures, and demonstrates clinical competency, prioritization, and problem solving skills during direct patient care. Coordinates activities related to Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. Plans, initiates, documents and manages an established comprehensive treatment care plan, including admissions, scheduling, documentation and discharge planning in collaboration with the patient, their family, and other members of the health care team. Consults with other departments and care centers, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. Evaluates the response of patients to treatment and other patient care interventions. Recommends revision of treatment plan of care in collaboration with health care team members as needed. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition, response to treatment and to crisis or emergency situations with patients or equipment in the department. Maintains department, organization and other regulatory agency educational requirements. Participates in continuing education, unit staff meetings, quality improvement, equipment maintenance program activities and supports membership in professional organizations. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and serves as a resource to all internal and external customers in accordance with hospital policy. Participates in the planning, orientation, teaching, guiding, and evaluating the performance of staff and students. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED Required Experience 1 year Clinicial Experience Required Licenses and Certifications Clinical Other\BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
