The Manufacturing Data Engineer will play a crucial role in driving efficiency and enhancing operational performance through data analysis, visualization, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, particularly in utilizing Tableau and other analytical tools, and have a background in manufacturing environments. In addition to technical expertise, the role requires proficient project management capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This position will be working out of the Charlottesville, VA NGC facility.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Utilize Tableau to build core capabilities aimed at deciphering and visualizing manufacturing data.

+ Collaborate with manufacturing teams (test, engineering, supervision) to understand data analysis needs and build custom solutions in Tableau.

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to data fidelity and visualization tools.

+ Develop and automate data visualizations and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making processes.

+ Support time studies and efficiency analyses to validate improvements in manufacturing processes.

+ Provide on-site subject matter expertise in performance data analysis, guiding corrective actions and process optimization.

+ Lead data query creation, database management, and data validation tasks aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

+ Engage in change management efforts related to the deployment of new technologies, fostering collaboration and maximizing technological impact.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with 2+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment. A STEM Master’s degree is acceptable with 0+ years of experience.

+ U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

+ Proficient in creating interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau.

+ Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL).

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience in high-mix / low-volume manufacturing environments.

+ Demonstrated skills in statistical data analysis and modeling.

+ Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and underlying data structures (e.g., SAP).

+ Demonstrated project management skills.

+ Familiarity with Agile methodology and advanced manufacturing technology (e.g., Augmented Reality).

**Salary Range:** $82,900 - $124,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
