The City of Chandler Community Services Department Chandler Community Center is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Assistant - Rentals (part-time, temporary, non-benefited). This position serves at the discretion of the department director. The position is scheduled to work varied days and hours.

Who we are looking for
Our new team members will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with experience working in a team environment, setting up and breaking down for events or facilities and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will be available for potential shifts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, as early as 6am and as late as 2pm.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, room set-up and clean-up, educating renters and other facility guests on and enforcing policies throughout the facility, assisting the renter with AV/technical issues, cleaning and maintaining the facility and equipment, communicating issues to supervisor, providing support to Guest Services, preparing materials for programs, such as crafts, equipment. The Recreation Assistant will assist as needed with the other programs, such as the birthday party program, completing task list items and with ad-hoc tasks etc. The Recreation Assistant will be responsible for opening/closing the facility for the renter at the beginning/end of their rental times, as needed, and must ensure the facility is empty and secure.

Minimum qualifications
• A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 1 year of experience in a recreation environment; and
• A First Aid/CPR Certification, depending on assignment; and
• A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications
• Dependable, punctual and focused, with the ability to work without direct supervision; and
• Confident people-person who thrives in customer facing roles, while being comfortable with enforcing policies; and
• Excellent organization, communication skills and a problem-solver
The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
