**Northrop Grumman is looking for a Financial Analyst - Corporate Technical Accounting. This position will work directly with and report to the Manager of Technical Accounting and perform technical GAAP accounting research and other financial analysis as required. this position is located in Falls Church, VA and will require an on site presence on a full time basis. There is no opportunity for a fully virtual location for this role.**

**The chosen individual will be responsible for the following activities:**

+ Research and analyze new and proposed accounting pronouncements and application of existing pronouncements to complex business transactions.

+ Conclude and provide guidance to the sectors on accounting for leases (ASC 842), revenue recognition (ASC 606), and other accounting topics.

+ Draft accounting position papers summarizing technical accounting issues, application of accounting guidance to the company, alternatives available and recommendations.

+ Prepare presentations of accounting treatment with recommendations and present to senior finance management.

+ Coordinate research findings with external auditors.

+ Review and update internal accounting policies for new accounting pronouncements and other changes.

+ Support management in the preparation of various presentations made to the members of the Audit Committee and Senior Management

+ Administrate the Company’s accounting research and CPE license subscriptions.

+ Prepare and present technical accounting training on a regular basis.

+ Provide on-call technical accounting guidance to the sectors and other stakeholders.

+ Perform miscellaneous financial analysis as required.

**Basic Qualifications** – to be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skill and abilities listed below:

+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 10 years of relevant work experience; Master’s degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience. Master’s degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of experience. Public Accounting IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.

+ Ability to regularly work on site at our office in Falls Church, VA (this role will offer some telework, but it is not a fully virtual position).

**Preferred Qualifications** – candidates with these desired skills be given preferential consideration:

+ Recent Big 4 or recognized public accounting firm audit experience (minimum senior associate level)

+ Strong GAAP accounting proficiency and research experience

+ Basic computer and financial analysis skills, including use and understanding of spreadsheets

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills

+ Experience communicating with executives

+ Self-motivated and able to function well in a team environment

+ Strong project management skills

+ Prior experience in Aerospace & Defense industry

+ CPA (Certified Public Accountant)

**Salary Range:** $109,900 - $164,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
