Who we are
The City of Chandler Community Development Division administers funds and programs that promote the improvement of quality of life for low- to moderate-income families and assist in the stabilization of Chandler neighborhoods. As well as partner with nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and City departments to address basic and critical human needs.
This division receives Community Development Block Grant and HOME funds from the federal government. And we administer General Funds to local non-profits. These grants allow our department to:
fund non-profits that serve people in need in Chandleroffer home rehabilitation for low-income individualsprovide emergency home repair for low-income individualsfund capital projects such as park improvements that develop neighborhoods and benefit the community
Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone who will identify resources to assist and facilitate access to community resources including housing opportunities.
- Monitors the Chandler Cares email and phone line and connects residents with community assistance programs.Works with residents that are in crisis and/or at risk of eviction to assist and provide housing stability.Triages cases to assist residents in receiving proper assistance and works with resident and Management Analyst Senior to expedite cases.Facilitates financial and housing stability by identifying resident needs, researching opportunities for assistance and working with households to utilize new resources and skills to improve their quality of life.Prepares public program reports and dashboards.Participates in public outreach events and connects with local businesses and non-profit organizations to provide education about community resources and Cares Team services.Manages and facilitates Heat Relief services to include contract management and monitoring of subrecipients.

Minimum qualifications
An Associate's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or a related field2 years of experience in community outreach, resident interaction, non-profit organizations, grant allocations or in a related fieldA valid Driver's License with acceptable driving recordAny equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
This is a full-time, limited duration position with benefits. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
The City of Chandler will conduct a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
