Description

We are in search of a Staff Accountant to be a part of our team. This role is based in Tucson, Arizona and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Staff Accountant, you will be tasked with assisting in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, and maintaining the General Ledger. While focusing on reconciliations, this role will be working closely with the Payroll department to ensure PTO Accruals, and benefits reconciliation. Ideally looking for candidates with strong attention to detail, who are open to helping where needed as this is a growing non-profit in the South west Tucson area.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure accurate and timely processing

• Perform bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of transactions

• Maintain the General Ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and up-to-date

• Prepare and post Journal Entries to record financial transactions

• Work closely with the Controller and Accounting team on month-end close procedures to finalize financial records for the month

• Partner with Payroll on accounting for PTO, reconciling payroll entries

Work within MS Excel to analyze data, track information, and maintain reports

Requirements

• Possesses a minimum of one year experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar capacity

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrates skill in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Has experience working with General Ledger

• Able to prepare and review Journal Entries

• Skilled in executing Month End Close procedures

• Demonstrates proficiency in accounting software
