Job Purpose

Continue to promote KAITEKI values creating and maintaining a safe and positive work environment. The Fabrication Sr Specialist supports daily operations of production and manufacturing facilities for given department(s) and assigned staff. Conduct and train employees on complex plastic fabrication operations that includes hot air welding, gluing, bonding, bending, thermoforming and assembly. Working closely with the CNC & Fabrication Supervisor to provide leadership and manage work while monitoring manufacturing equipment and procedures. The Fabrication Sr Specialist will provide effective training to all new and existing employees and ensure safety and quality standards and procedures are maintained.

Principal Accountabilities

**Staff**

+ _Actively participate in the interviewing process to ensure appropriate talent is staffed to the department._

+ _Provide, arrange, and assist in training for all staff._

+ _Delegate daily production assignments._

+ _Ensure that all production staff are following good manufacturing processes by following the standard operating procedures and safety practices._

+ _Develop and maintain effective relationships with employees through mentoring and setting examples on the production floor._

+ _Monitor and give effective feedback to staff on their performance throughout the year and during a formal annual review process._

+ _Monitor employee hours and make sure they are accurately entered for payroll processing._

+ _Reviewing the ERP system to make sure time is being reported correctly for jobs being worked._

+ _Work with employees through issues that may arise while following company policies and escalate the situations to management, as needed._

**_Production_**

+ _Act as a point of contact on the production floor to all other departments._

+ _Work with CNC & Fabrication Supervisor to manage and prioritize staffing assignments._

+ _Report all quality, production and equipment issues to the CNC & Fabrication Supervisor._

+ _Communicate with Manufacturing Engineering for programming issues and estimating if necessary_

+ _Help to ensure production targets are achieved, including monitoring staffing, waste and productivity._

+ _Be accountable for the general operation and efficiencies of production operations._

+ _Ensure preventative maintenance on equipment and partner with maintenance for equipment troubleshooting and repair._

+ _Monitor product quality (including sampling and record-keeping-ERP system) to ensure products meet required specifications._

+ _Be responsible for efficient, high-quality operation of assigned area._

+ _Conduct spot investigations, audits and regular inspections to ensure all work is performed safely._

+ _Other duties as assigned._

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

+ High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

+ 10 + years of fabrication experience.

+ 1-5 years of experience in a leadership role.

+ Blueprint reading and comprehension of GD & T principles.

+ Manual inspection gages and editing and writing of programs.

+ Must have basic math skills.
