GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
To ensure the health and safety of students, staff and the general public by ensuring the  efficient  operation of district mechanical and kitchen equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  
Completes assigned preventive maintenance and repair work orders in the district, for mechanical systems and kitchen equipment;
Performs maintenance and repairs such as refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and controls as related to mechanical systems and kitchen equipment, under direction of HVAC Tech.
Examines mechanical systems and kitchen equipment on a regular basis to determine the type of repairs and maintenance required;
Assists with monitoring for and compliance with all applicable codes and regulations;
Operates welding and cutting equipment;
Participates in various training sessions to upgrade skills;
Performs other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
A.  REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent;
Two years of HVAC/R and kitchen equipment experience;
Ability to communicate and work well with staff and the general public;
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license;
Ability to obtain an appropriate EPA CFC certification.  
B.  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 75 lbs. without assistance.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
 
A.  TIME MANAGEMENT:  Routine work with regular planning needed;
B.  STRESS MANAGEMENT:  Usually minimal stress and deadlines associated with the position; but occasional tight deadlines associated with HVAC replacement or repairs;
C  PUBLIC CONTACT:  Interacts primarily with staff, faculty and the general public;
D.  LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:  Must use sound judgment in performing job;
EVALUATION PROCEDURE:  In accordance with provisions specified in Governing Board policy;
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Reports to the HVAC Technician.
