**Responsibilities**

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the MRI department. Assists with supervisory duties and covers in the supervisor's absence. Ensures the production of high quality MRI images that meet the standards established by the Mayo Clinic Radiology Department. Uses effective leadership, judgment, and problem solving skills in a teamwork environment. Directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff and patients. In addition to these duties, the Lead MRI Technologist motivates, builds commitment, educates, and trains personnel in the work area and generates feedback. Varying work days, hours and shift lengths as well as response to an on-call pager including day, evening, night, holiday and weekend coverage may be required. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required.

**Qualifications**

Graduate of an ARRT-certified Health Science Program. Two years' MRI technologist experience.

**Additional Qualifications**

Must be highly organized, efficient and multifunctional with the ability to work independently. Requires excellent interpersonal and effective teaching and communication skills. Must display leadership qualities, ability to motivate and direct others. Strong human relations and communication skills required. Strong organizational skills and leadership qualities required. Skilled in influencing, motivating, and directing others required.

**License or Certification**

ARRT certification in MRI (MR) and one of the following: Radiography (R) or Nuclear Medicine (N). Arizona certification in one of the following: Radiography (CRT) or Nuclear Medicine (CNMT). Basic Life Support Certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) Competency.

**Schedule Details**

10-hour shifts, four days a week, from 12:30 PM to 11 PM. No on-call or holidays required. Coverage at all locations may be necessary to provide leadership oversight. Traveling between locations may be needed for daily coverage.

As needed to cover PTO.
