Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Physical Lab Technician is to conduct mechanical and dimensional testing for the Rolling Mill to certify compliance with material standards. The technician must be able to accurately record information in a computer database, be proficient with machinery and testing equipment, be able to gather samples from the mill according to relevant work instructions, and must work safely in a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment while remaining focused on quality. Safety is an important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures and housekeeping standards to make safety a priority at all times

Minimum Qualifications:

+ 6 months of quality experience

+ Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and scheduled/unscheduled overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Working knowledge of steel industry standards, steel grades, and Quality Systems.

+ Manufacturing experience, preferably in steel production.
