The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as aLibrary Specialist (Regular, Part-Time). The location will be at the Downtown Library Branch, reporting to Youth Services. The Downtown Library is open 7 days and 3 evenings per week.

Work Schedule:

This is a 20-hour position working Thursday, Friday, and Saturday each week and once per month on Sunday.

Chandler Public Library inspires intellectual discovery, creative entertainment, and lifelong learning through robust information resources that connect communities to a world of knowledge and new ideas. Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We’re seeking someone with excellent customer service skills and experience in children’s programming.

Minimum Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED; and

• 2 years of general library experience; and

• A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record; or

• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

This is a regular full-time position subject to a 6-month probationary period. Should another position become available, a register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months.

The City of Chandler will conduct a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
