Utilities Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Utilities Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor for the Utilities Administrative Services Division. The position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the opportunity for an alternative schedule after probation.

Who we are
The City of Chandler is one of very few cities in Arizona that has received and sustained accreditation by the American Public Works Association. The Water Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's water treatment plant, 32 water wells, and 19 booster station facilities. In addition, the City of Chandler shares a water treatment plant with the Town of Gilbert, Santan Vista Water Treatment Plant (SVWTP). The Utility also operates wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure, including industrial wastewater/ brine reduction and three wastewater facilities. The city treats over 64 million gallons of fresh water and over 30 million gallons of wastewater per day to class A+ reclaimed water to meet irrigation and industrial demands. Our water is received from four primary water sources: Salt River, Verde River, Colorado River and ground water supplied by our extensive well field facilities. Chandler also uses advanced treatment processes to recycle over 7 million gallons of industrial wastewater and return it back to industrial reuse. Service is provided to the City of Chandler residential, commercial, and industrial users by a network of 1,224 miles of active water mains, 942 miles of active sewer mains, and 92 miles of reclaimed water mains.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone who will provide day-to-day supervision of the Public Works and Utilities maintenance management using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) systems to plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities to maximize uptime and equipment reliability, including providing technical guidance, assigning work, and training staff.

Minimum qualifications
•A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Public Administration, Construction Management, or in a related field; and
•5 years of experience in the operations and/or maintenance of water or wastewater treatment plants (or related system facilities) or electrical or instrumentation in an industrial environment including at least 3 years of experience using an Enterprise Asset Management System (work order/asset); and;
•2 years of lead or supervisory experience; and
• a 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification, an ADEQ Grade 3 Water or Wastewater Treatment Certification, a Grade 1 Water Distribution or Wastewater Collections Certification (or combination thereof), a Maintenance Management Certification (LCE) and Maintenance & Reliability Professional Certification within one (1) year of hire or promotion; and
•a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or
•any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, a driving record check, and a reference check as a condition of employment.
