Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a **Senior Principal Project Manager** . This position will be located in **Roy, Utah** and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

**What You’ll Get To Do:**

The Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Segment is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Senior Principal Project Manager. The selected candidate will provide project oversight and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects supporting the AVE restructure team, USAF, and multiple cross-team stakeholders to contribute to, develop, and execute the Sentinel AVE Restructure and Milestone B recertification. This team consists of a multi-disciplinary network across AVE and will develop and mature a variety of artifacts and proposals including Alternate Flight Test Schedule, Mk21A and TMRR/Milestone-B certification.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

**You'll bring these qualifications:**

**Sr. Principal Project Management Roles/Responsibilities:**

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Additional: Other duties as assigned or required to meet mission objectives or stakeholder needs.

**Knowledge, Skills and Ability**

Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

**Problem Solving**

Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.

**Discretion/Latitude**

Most assignments are complex and performed independently without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.

**Impact**

Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources as well as problems with customer satisfaction.

**Liaison**

Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives. Acts as an advisor to senior management and customers.

**Senior Principal Project Manager:** 8 Years with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with a PhD; 4 additional years may be considered in lieu of degree

+ Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

+ Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills

+ Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.

+ Experience with balance needs and priorities between teams and projects

+ Must be able to work on-site in Roy, UT

**These qualifications would be nice to have:**

+ Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) and/or building an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)

+ Experience supporting a proposal and/or contracting team

+ Experience supporting a cross-functional team through System Level Reviews such as SFR, PDR, CDR

+ Current SAP

+ PMP Certification

Salary Range: $98,100.00 - $147,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
