Purpose and Scope:

Sargent is in need of a dynamic and results-driven Strategic Buyer II to join our procurement team and play a pivotal role in our sourcing and supply chain operations. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with a sharp eye for cost optimization and a talent for building strong supplier relationships. In this role, you will develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with our organizational objectives, collaborate closely across departments, including Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Operations, and provide critical support from prototype to production.

Roles and Responsibilities

+ Develop and execute sourcing strategies for goods and services in accordance with organizational goals

+ Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and negotiate with suppliers to achieve savings

+ Develop and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure high quality, on-time delivery, and cost-effectiveness

+ Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvements

+ Close cooperation with Inside, Outside Sales, Product Managers, Engineering and OPS

+ May supervise lower-level Strategic Buyers and provide guidance and support as needed

+ RFP/RFQ's for new CO and CE

+ Prototype to production support

+ Mentor tactical buyers where applicable

Required Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

+ 8 years minimum ERP experience with Syteline, Oracle or SAP R3

+ Intermediate/expert MS Office Skills

+ Strategic Sourcing experience in the aerospace industry

+ Outstanding written & oral communication skills

+ Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field and 8 years experience in the aerospace or high reliability sourcing environment or 10 years equivalent experience

+ High tolerance for ambiguity and working in a matrix organization

+ Continuous Improvement experience

+ DFAR/FAR experience preferred
