Position: Staff Accountant

Do you love construction as much as we do? We are looking to add a Staff Accountant to our dynamic accounting team. You must be a self-starter capable of jumping right in and getting it done in our fast paced and growing organization.

As an Accounting Team member, you will also be expected to:

+ Manage the day-to-day transactional accounting duties, including AP, AR, Payroll, Journal Entry preparation, and balance sheet reconciliations.

+ Reconciliation of bank statements.

+ Assist with tax filings.

+ AP payment processing, supplier waiver process, payment inquiries and 1099’s.

+ AR Cash receipts, customer waivers, and oversight of pre-lien process.

+ Month-end journal entry preparation and maintenance of schedules.

+ Month-end GL reconciliations and prepare resulting journal entries for review.

+ Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.

+ Periodic inventory counts and 1099 preparation.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Knowledge:

+ Must be proficient with company accounting systems.

+ Must have a thorough understanding of and ability to implement GAAP compliant accounting processes and principles to accurately reflect the company’s business financial position.

+ Knowledge of general construction and job costing.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Superior interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership ability and a strong work ethic.

+ Ability to read and analyze financial reports.

+ Strong understanding of US tax regulations.

+ Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

+ Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience:

+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

+ At least two years’ experience in accounting or a related field.

+ Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum.
