**Job Title: Lead Avionics Technician**
**Job Description**
The Lead Avionics Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe work environment, managing costs, and delivering high-quality aircraft products on time. This position requires performing tasks within budget and adhering to company, FAA, and customer quality standards. The Lead Avionics Technician coordinates shift transitions, develops and maintains budgets, and oversees the setup of job assignments.
**Responsibilities**
+ Monitor and maintain attendance records of assigned crew.
+ Audit and approve weekly work records of assigned work group.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, work rules, and regulatory regulations.
+ Monitor performance and complete proficiency appraisals of assigned work group.
+ Evaluate vacation requests against scheduling/manpower requirements.
+ Promote a culture of safety and ensure duties are performed within safety guidelines.
+ Manage operations effectively, eliminating waste and improving productivity.
+ Provide coaching, counseling, and guidance to the assigned work group.
+ Maintain and track budgets as set by Project Manager, resolving conflicts and discrepancies.
+ Perform disciplinary actions as required within the assigned work group.
+ Attend meetings to discuss critical path areas, planned work, and overall aircraft status.
+ Interact with Planner to prioritize daily activities and set aircraft delivery schedules.
+ Perform daily area inspections for cleanliness and safety.
+ Conduct periodic toolbox inspections and monitor compliance with confined space and LOTO procedures.
+ Participate in aircraft investigations to find root causes and develop corrective actions.
+ Complete accident investigations and follow-up as needed.
+ Conduct periodic in-process audits of assigned crew.
+ Monitor safety during work shift and maintain detailed shift turnover.
+ Process non-routine work to provide accurate estimates and suggested repairs.
+ Assign appropriate manpower to perform work assignments.
+ Monitor mechanics' progress and provide guidance.
+ Ensure technical training is provided to employees as needed.
+ Inspect mechanics' work prior to quality control buybacks.
+ Ensure mechanics use current data for maintenance tasks.
+ Order and track all required parts.
+ Provide project manager and business planner with accurate data and estimates, assisting with project planning.
**Essential Skills**
+ High school diploma or GED certificate.
+ 5 years of combined bench or line experience working on avionics components.
+ Experience with large commercial aircraft preferred; corporate, general, or military aircraft experience considered.
+ Ability to interpret technical data such as SRM, CMM, IPC, drawings, and Eos.
+ Must be flexible to work any shift.
+ Successful completion of a comprehensive BG check, verification of credentials, and a urinary pre-employment drug test per DOT regulations.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes exposure to hazardous chemicals, abrasive blast residue, paint fumes, and high-pitch sound. Personal protective equipment is required in specified areas. The employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects. Occasionally, the employee must push/pull, stack, reach above shoulder level, or carry lightweight materials. The ability to work in a shop environment and lift up to 100 lbs is necessary. Shifts are available from Sunday to Thursday and Tuesday to Saturday, with potential overtime not guaranteed. Shifts include 7am-4pm and 3:30pm-12am, the latter with an additional $0.50/hour differential.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
