We are looking for an experienced and passionate Software Development Engineer (SDE) like you, who thrives in innovating and solving exciting challenges to build customer-centric products

Millions of worldwide Selling Partners bring a vast selection of products on Amazon Stores at lowest costs and fast shipping speeds. This requires Selling Partners to list and manage products and their offers via Seller Central and Vendor Central portals easily. Our team, Core Selling Partner Experience (CSPE) owns critical services and experiences that enable Selling Partners to easily understand and execute business workflows to serve our shopping customers. We are seeking an experienced SDE to re-imagine and deliver simplified Selling Partner experiences across Seller Central and Vendor Central.

Key job responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices

Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers

Collaborate with team members on software architecture and design decisions

Implement new features and improve existing functionality

Debug and resolve software defects

Create and maintain technical documentation

Participate in the full software development lifecycle

Support operational maintenance and troubleshooting

Contribute to team's continuous improvement initiatives

A day in the life

Attending daily stand-up meetings to align with team priorities

Writing and reviewing code for ongoing projects

Collaborating with team members on technical solutions

Participating in design discussions and architecture reviews

Testing and debugging code to ensure quality

Contributing to code reviews and incorporating feedback

Working with various stakeholders to understand requirements

Monitoring and maintaining existing systems

Documenting technical specifications and processes

Participating in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives)

Investigating and resolving production issues as needed

Learning and implementing new technologies and best practices

About the team

The Selling Partner Simplification team, within CSPE, focuses on improving the Selling Partner experience across our Seller and Vendor desktop and mobile experiences. We achieve this through experience consolidation, driving consistency across the Selling Partner experience, and developing new experiences to help our Selling Partners sell successfully on Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 1+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally at all levels

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

- Deep knowledge of Java EE technologies, Lucene-based search, Elasticsearch or AWS OpenSearch
