Field Service TechnicianJob Description

The Field Service Technician utilizes electromechanical skills to provide excellent service to customers. This role involves performing installation and troubleshooting on vacuum pumps, abatement, gas, and chemical delivery systems to maintain and increase revenue for both service and sales divisions. Additionally, the engineer participates in site safety programs to create a zero-hazard environment, works professionally to develop customer relations, and demonstrates the ability to understand detailed electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

+ Perform installation and troubleshooting on vacuum pumps, abatement, gas, and chemical delivery systems.

+ Participate in site safety programs to create a zero-hazard environment.

+ Develop and maintain professional customer relations.

+ Comprehend and adhere to all site fab and Subfab protocol requirements.

+ Utilize test equipment including various test meters, hand tools, and power tools.

+ Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

+ Respectfully take direction from supervisors or managers and complete other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ Field service experience

+ Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills

+ Ability to read schematics and diagrams

+ Electromechanical experience

+ 1-3 years of equivalent experience in relevant technical fields such as electronic, mechanical, chemical, gas, refrigeration, or basic vacuum

+ Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical diagrams

+ Competency in the use of test equipment including various test meters, hand tools, and power tools

+ Basic computer skills including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office

+ Excellent customer interfacing and communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School Diploma

+ Associates degree or full military equivalent

+ Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and strong willingness to learn

+ Self-starter with initiative and ability to set priorities

+ Ability to work in confined or awkward spaces for extended periods

+ Completion of training to work at height using approved fall protection equipment

+ Successful completion of Physical Capability assessment

+ Clean driving record

+ Fluency in written and spoken English

+ Openness to 5% domestic travel if needed

Work Environment

The role requires working onsite at Intel Ocotillo, involving physical workloads such as installing and decommissioning semiconductor tools in a subfab/cleanroom environment.

The job requires wearing a respirator for at least 2 hours, steel-toed boots, and involves walking 9-10 miles a day.

Employees must be able to lift 50 lbs and be prepared to work in a subfab environment.

Work is carried out in 12-hour compressed shifts with day shifts from 5:45 am to 6 pm and night shifts from 5:45 pm to 6 am. Must be open to all shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
