Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a **Staff Engineer Systems Architect** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
The Staff Engineer Systems Architect will report to Strike’s Capability Verification Manager to help drive streamlined approaches for a variety of Strike verification activities. This position pushes innovation, develops verification strategies, and drives advances within a diverse team of individuals. This individual will collaborate with several stakeholders across internal distributed teams (capability experts, developers, system integrators, system testers, etc.) as well as interfacing with the Customer to support delivery of quality products.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Troubleshoot and develop solutions to complex technical problems that the program may encounter
+ Mentor, coach, train, guide, direct and advise junior staff
+ Lead and provide expert support to the entire SEIT technical team
+ Able to recognize and mitigate technical issues and risks while operating within budget and on schedule

**Basic Qualifications for a Staff Engineer Systems Architect:**
+ Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 10 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 7 year of related professional/military experience.
+ Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program access prior to the commencement of employment.
+ Must have experience with complex weapon system architecture and verification.
+ Must have experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, GENESYS, or CORE
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ An active, In-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
+ Previous or existing Program Access Request (PAR)
+ Knowledge of Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis concepts
+ DOORS experience
+ Control Account Manager experience
+ Demonstrated technical leadership skills, decisiveness, and ability to make sound technical judgments with limited information
+ Experience with Agile methodologies and JIRA/Confluence
Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
