Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems offers an exciting opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Systems Test – System Test SME (25-306) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

**Position Overview:**
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It is an essential operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC provides a layered missile defense capability that delivers an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to enhance overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a vital component of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.
The System Test Team manages the planning and analysis of all MDS ground and flight tests related to the C2BMC program. Flight tests are conducted with specific sensors and shooters.

+ Responsible for the planning of all assigned test events, with emphasis on developing and implementing the test artifacts required for each event:

+ Architecture
+ Data Item Descriptions
+ Defense Designs
+ Sensor Resource Management (SRM) settings
+ Operational Tasking Data Link (OPTASKLINK)
+ Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI) configuration and Forwarding Tables
+ CDS
+ TDACS
+ TRAUT TDACS
+ Comms Connectivity Matrices
+ Event Configuration Baseline (ECB)
+ System Adjustable Parameters (SAPs)/Site-Specific Parameters (SSPs)
+ BDR and PR applicability
+ Certification Data Packages
+ The position also provides the following support:
+ Planning phase reviews and meetings
+ Customer boards and meetings
+ Data Management
+ Interface with developers
+ Government personnel during event execution phases, when requested
+ Anomaly resolution and troubleshooting
+ Support the analysis group
+ Failure Review Boards (FRBs)
+ 1 year of prior experience on the C2BMC program in any capacity
+ Self-starter with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with government clients and both internal and external personnel within the program
**Basic Qualifications:**

+ A Bachelor’s Degree in **STEM** Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related **STEM** field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or PhD in a related field with 4 years of relevant work experience
+ Applicants must possess a current, active in-scope DoD-issued **Secret** security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
+ Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs are required
+ Technical knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS), including sensors, shooters, command and control systems, and networks
+ International events include various ground and flight tests:

+ **Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI)**
+ **Integrated Ground Test (GTI)**
+ **Distributed Ground Test (GTD)**

**Additional Northrop Grumman Information:**
Salary Range: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
