Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Cyber Systems Engineer to join our diverse team, working on the Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD) portfolio of programs in Redondo Beach, CA. The selected candidate will oversee cybersecurity operations and ensure the security of an Army Air Defense System that includes defense against manned aircraft; rockets, artillery, and mortars; unmanned aerial systems (UAS); and cruise missile defense.

**This requisition may be filled at the Principal Cyber Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer level:**

+ Principal Cyber Systems Engineer Software - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline (and 5 years of relevant experience; or 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD).

+ Senior Principal Cyber Systems - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline (and 8 years of relevant experience; or 6 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD).

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

+ Monitor cybersecurity alerts for impact to systems, conduct system scans, analyze results and propose remediation actions

+ Assess software and cybersecurity-related changes, analyze potential impacts, and obtain government concurrence

+ Conduct periodic tag-ups with government customer to address cybersecurity concerns, generate CDRLs and RMF documentation, and support government accreditation events

+ Oversee the classified laboratory, including security and antivirus updates, account management, access control, and coordination with relevant stakeholders to maintain authorization to operate (ATO)

+ Oversee installation and testing of quarterly IAVA patches

+ Write scripts to implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ General knowledge of DoD based Systems, including but not limited to: RMF, Cryptography and Systems Engineering design and implementation

+ Possess a DOD 8570 certification: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar

+ Familiarity with requirements development and derivation or validation and verification

+ Demonstrably good writing skills; ability to contribute to deliverable technical documents and reports

+ Current DoD Secret clearance

**Following are good to have, but are not required:**

+ Advanced degrees in Engineering, Software, or Computer Science

+ Specific Information Assurance experience

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience contributing to and/or making technical presentations to the chief engineer

+ Moderate proficiency in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring.

+ Familiar with multiple operating systems to include Linux and Windows

+ Experience with writing shell scripts and understanding of general shell scripting practices

Salary Range: $121,400.00 - $182,000.00Salary Range 2: $151,100.00 - $226,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
