**Role Summary/Purpose:**

The AVP, Cloud Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the execution of the Synchrony Financial metadata management and data cataloging strategy for data moving to our cloud environment. The individual will be reporting to the VP, Metadata Management and Data Sourcing Leader.

The AVP, Cloud Program Manager will collaborate with business and IT Leaders, data management process owners, and analytics stakeholders across Synchrony to support the modernization of our analytic processes and data assets by leading and driving project and program management activities for the implementation of our data sourcing and metadata management controls in the cloud.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Creates, communicates, and closely manages project plans, risks and issues, and other required project documentation and provides project status updates as required.

+ Ensures process rigor and adherence with the project management methodologies and the PMO processes and standards.

+ Assists data management process owners and the Chief Data Officer in the operational execution of on-going program logistics including the development of presentation & project materials.

+ Proactively define and manage the backlog of work associated with Data Sourcing activities and outcomes using SAFE Agile techniques.

+ Ensures successful adoption of data cataloging/metadata capabilities and controls (on time, on budget, and ensuring quality).

+ Maintains project documentation, including project charter, requirements, conceptual design, test plans, schedules, and presentations.

+ Support proactive analysis of our metadata to identify duplicative sets of data, seeking opportunities to reduce our data footprint and to optimize analytics by working with Technology and Analytic teams to eliminate redundant or out of sync versions of data on-prem and in SYFs public cloud.

+ Organizes analytic work efforts to support the adoption of shared enterprise data assets.

+ Works in partnership with the VP, Metadata Management and Data Sourcing Leader to refine and evaluate the data stewardship plan each year; assessing gaps in data sourcing practices (e.g., what data analysts access and utilize) identifying opportunities for data curation, process optimization or process modernization.

+ Ensures compliance with the data management methodologies and the Data Office processes and standards.

+ Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

**Qualifications/Requirements:**

+ Bachelor's Degree or in lieu of a Degree, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 9 years of experience and project/program management.

+ A minimum of 5 years of work experience to include:

+ 3+ years of project and/or program management experience to include working on gathering business need requirements, planning and defining business solutions

+ 3+ years of experience in working on data-related projects and using data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Ab Initio, Alation, etc.) to manage enterprise metadata

+ 1+ year of experience with Agile methodology and tools

**Desired Characteristics:**

+ Strong interpersonal skills to lead cross-functional teams, foster collaboration and drive consensus across stakeholder groups

+ Ability to direct technical teams and mentor/coach team members

+ Exceptional problem-solving, communication and leadership abilities

+ Experience working in financial services and in the credit card domain in particular, highly desired

+ Proficient in writing / understanding SQL.

+ Experience querying/analyzing data in cloud-based environments (e.g, AWS, Redshift)

+ Intermediate to advanced MS Office Suite skills including Power Point, Excel, Access, Visio.

+ Strong relationship management and influencing skills to build enduring and productive alliances across matrix organizations.

+ Demonstrated success in managing multiple deliverables concurrently often within aggressive timeframes; ability to cope under time pressure.

+ Experience in partnering with a diverse team composed of staff and consultants located in multiple locations and time zones.

**Grade/Level: 11**

The salary range for this position is **115,000.00 - 200,000.00** USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

**Eligibility Requirements:**

+ You must be 18 years or older

+ You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

+ You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

+ You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

+ New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
