Product Assurance and Certification (PAAC) has an immediate opening for a Lead Project Engineer (PE) for Avionics programs. This position will be the program regulatory and quality interface and single point of accountability for Avionics development projects.

The Lead PAAC PE is responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical success for Product Assurance and Certification aspects of assigned Honeywell Aerospace TSO, TC, PMA, STC and military programs, including achievement of all applicable regulatory and quality requirements, and PAAC cost objectives and schedule milestones.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Prepare and manage detailed PAAC project plans, schedules, and budgets in concert with development program objectives
* Estimate PAAC effort, cost and schedule requirements for proposed projects
* Coordinate global PAAC resource assignments to meet project needs
* Single point of contact for PAAC with internal and external customers for all program issues
* Responsible for regular program tracking and reporting, including activity-based management (ABM) processes.
* Create and present program reviews and other presentations as required
* Responsible for establishing and meeting program cost and schedule requirements (CPI & SPI)
* Act as a liaison and coordinator between customers, engineering, and other functional groups such as businesses, PP&C, manufacturing, quality, procurement, etc.
* Ensures project compliance to required Aero development processes, as well as advocates use of current, efficient Certification and Product Development Quality Assurance (PDQA) tools and methods
* Support of Project Engineering Council
* Travel as required to coordinate and conduct program activities and resolve problems
* Ensure product satisfies airworthiness regulations and other applicable certification requirements and Honeywell development process requirements
* Provide leadership for all programmatic aspects of PAAC business and strategies

* Planning and design experience in Water/Wastewater treatment facilities, including design experience with preliminary treatment processes such as screening and grit removal process design, secondary treatment processes such as aeration tanks and bioreactor design and process design and modeling of biological processes for organics and nutrient removal, and tertiary process design including effluent filtration and disinfection
* Hands-on experience with Water/Wastewater treatment process analysis and troubleshooting, process design, process planning, and process analysis
* Detailed understanding of Water/Wastewater treatment physical-chemical and biological process mechanisms
* Strong project management and design management skills specific to Water/Wastewater treatment facility improvements
* Experience with Water/Wastewater treatment facility construction and commissioning of facility upgrades and new facilities
* Familiar with Water/Wastewater treatment regulations and restrictions
* Experience managing clients and supporting business development
* Ability to excel in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as independently
* Effective written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

* 10+ years of experience in the Water/Wastewater treatment design with emphasis on upgrades of Water/Wastewater treatment facilities to add new process mechanical equipment and biological treatment system improvements
* Bachelor's degree in civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
* Master's degree in civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred
* Valid AZ Professional Engineering license is preferred, or a Professional Engineering license in another state with the ability to obtain a AZ license within one year preferred

A Day in the Life…

AeroSpec’s Control System Project Engineer will face many rewarding challenges in their day-to-day experiences. Using a Scrum-based project management methodology, along with sophisticated visual management of tasks, the Project Engineer will engage with peers on a daily basis discussing schedule, planning and resource forecasting for current and upcoming projects. Technical reviews of on-going projects, peer reviews of junior engineers’ work and customer-facing reviews and submittals ensure requirements and responsibilities are accurately communicated. The Project Engineer may be engaged on up-to-a-dozen projects at any one time in various states of our internal workflow.

What you will do:

Manage the engineering and control system design for a variety of assembly, test, and; facility applications including lean equipment, large scale assembly and processing lines, specialized test equipment, and facility control panels. These control systems may contain PLCs, IPCs, industrial Ethernet networks, distributed I/O, drives, motors, sensors, industrial user interfaces, power management, surge suppression and interfacing with electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic system components.
Participate in equipment conceptual development and carefully balance system specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits.
Budget & Quoting.
Collaborate with the control systems software development group to ensure software meets design requirements for the proposed control system architecture.
Provide block diagrams and other graphic specifications to define all critical elements of the control system architecture. Be able to defend the system concept and component selection to client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Implement ISO 13849-1 and EN 62061 compliant control safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipment.
Manage the development of detailed control system wiring diagrams, electrical & pneumatics schematics, enclosure/back panel drawings, and parts lists. Participate in peer reviews of the system to ensure compliance with AeroSpec common practices and industry standards (i.e. UL)
Collaborate with the company’s purchasing and operation staff to ensure the correct parts are ordered and received. Provide guidance and oversight when needed during panel and/or control system fabrication and integration.
Provide mentoring for junior controls engineers and integration technicians on various aspects of control system design and development.

What we need:

Minimum of five years of professional level hands-on experience managing, specifying, installing, testing, optimizing and commissioning complex industrial automation and control systems for process control, and industrial automation.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or other degree augmented with relevant experience.
Broad experience working with electrical and automation components from manufacturers such as Rockwell Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Phoenix Contact, Cognex, Square D, Festo, SMC, Wiedmueller, Wago, Hoffman, etc.
Experience with common field devices used in automation such as robots, laser systems, machine vision systems, indexers, pick and places, etc.
Expert proficiency at integrating PLCs, IPCs, and HMIs into control systems.

Position Summary

The Project Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for the design, testing and documentation of new products as well as supporting manufacturing. This role will collaborate with sales, business development and the customer to provide a solution to the customers' design problems.

Responsibilities

* Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical component and system design, including new product development and support of sustaining production of existing designs.
* Accountability for development and test of new design configurations, independently leading component detail design including layout and modeling by designers and drafters, tolerance stack-ups and drawing approvals, and detailed analysis such as stress/FEA/fatigue.

As a Lead Project Engineer, you will be part of our Engine Controls team driving achievement of performance within Honeywell Aerospace. You will be integral in the product development and control account management of high-temperature engine coatings leveraged across commercial, defense, and next generation aircraft applications.
